The War And More

Ada had a link up for an interview over at Sacbee with a marine who sees what he did in Iraq as war atrocities. His words are striking:

Q: Did the revelations that the government fabricated the evidence for war affect the troops?
A: Yes. I killed innocent people for our government. For what? What did I do? Where is the good coming out of it? I feel like I’ve had a hand in some sort of evil lie at the hands of our government. I just feel embarrassed, ashamed about it.

While I’m at it, a similar digusted, guilty description of someone else lied to and screwedd over by President Bush and his company: my friend Adam posted about his feelings regarding the war and his erstwhile support of it.

Finally, John Wendel alerted me to this wonderful editorial by Kurt Vonnegut that pulls no punches: Cold Turkey is the title of this editorial. Go read it, you.
