Stories That Are On Their Way Out The Door

I’ve mentioned this a few times, and I thought I might just go ahead and post a couple of lists. They’re as much to help me remember what I’m planning on sending out, and to help pressure me into finishing the redrafts of the ones needing more work, as they are to pique your interest. But for those who’d sampled stories and wondered why became of them, you may discover something of interest here.

Without further ado, the lists:

READY TO GO NOW:

    VERSE:

      ‘Ishk
      Gaslight
Kjellgaard’s Notes (previously “Naturalism Experiment #2”)

    SHORT FICTION

The Plea From Factory Unit 5
      Eythea
      Soul Competency
      Bodhisattva
      Poppy
      Tannenbaum(*)
From the Diaries of Solomon Binder(*)
      Instead of Pinochets

[Pieces marked with an asterisk (*) are Christmas-themed or Christmas-related and I’m planning on sending them at a time when they’re likely to be saleable in that light. ie. I’ll send them a little later on, after other stories get their time in the editorial pipeline.]

THINGS THAT NEED A FINAL CAREFUL READTHROUGH

    SHORT FICTION

      Instead of Pinochets

THINGS THAT NEED SOME MORE EDITING, REWRITING, ETC., IE. DEFINITELY NOT READY TO SEND OUT

    SHORT FICTION

      Realer
      Like Gandhari
      Rupt
      Metaphorz an’ Shit
      Touch
      With My Mouth
      Distributed
      Calla’s Definition
      Distributed

    LONG FICTION

Dead Abroad (the novel needs a major edit, some scene additions, and I also would like to find a section or two I could excerpt and submit to appropriate mags)

As you can see, I have a fair bit of rewriting to go if I am to get these older or more recent-but-unfinished pieces out the door. But I’d like to do so, at least, for some of them. I think Rupt, Like Gandhari, Distributed, With My Mouth, Realer, and Metaphorz an’ Shit might just stand a chance out there. Calla’s Definition (a cybernetic cop story) and Touch (a kind of cyberpunkish prose-poem/love-scene) I am much less certain about.
