Testing today was more fun than before. I got a chance to test my best class, and some of what they had to say was hilarious. I wanted to type out some highlights, but it’ll have to wait till tomorrow. Which is just as well, as I have some work to do on my story tonight. But I will mention one standout line from today’s dialogues:
Hey, your father is a swindler, my father is a crook: we have so much in common, my brother!
Then the two guys hugged, and one shushed the other, warning that the FBI sometimes came into the bar looking for gangsters.
I couldn’t make stuff like that up if I tried. I guess those guys somehow got into a dictionary and looked up a lot of words, their dialogue had me in stitches. Another good one, off the top of my head, was said by a girl who was doing a dialogue with her real-life boyfriend.
Boyfriend: What are you doing these days?
Girlfriend: I’m go to booking clubs.
Boyfriend: Why are you going to booking clubs?
Girlfriend: I want to change my boyfriend for a new boyfriend!
Boyfriend, wailing: Oooooooh noooooooo!
Okay, that’s it for now, we’ll see what I can scrape up from my test note-papers tomorrow.
