… camp is indeed over, which is why I am posting about all the books I’ve read in the last few weeks!
I am free for almost a month now. I have packing and moving to do, and it looks like Lime and I will be going on a trip next week, for ten days, to Thailand. (She booked the tickets tonight, and as long as her interview and application process go well, it’s a go! This is advantageous, since we’ll get more days in this way than we would get in if we went after her orientation.) Warm beaches, nice massages, pretty temples, funny T-shirts, good food, and, oooh, used bookshops. (With books in English!) It would have been nice to have more time to visit my family, but if that’s impossible, well, this sounds like a passable alternative. But till then, I have a lot of packing and preparing to do!
The other bit of news is that this means I’ll need to do a visa run to Japan, in all likelihood, a few days after I get back. That’s fine — it’s not so expensive if you find a passable place to stay, and I’ll get instructions on how to do it rapidly, though I think 3 days is the minimum. Ah well, I’ll be seeing Fukoka, which is an interesting curiosity for me. I’m sure I’ll have lots to say about that.
