I was searching online for the mp3 of “Berta, Berta” from The Piano Lesson, and your site was the only one that offered it. As I looked at one of the entries from your archive, where you had the song posted, I noticed that you did not have it up for long. I was wondering if you would please post it again. My Black Studies class is reading the story and I fell in love with the song as soon as I heard it, but was not allowed to fully enjoy it because my class was cut short for a fire drill. I would really appreciate it if you could please do the aforementioned favor for me. Thank you.
Dear Anj,
I could do that. It’ll take me a while to find the track though.
In the meantime, if you check out one of various P2P programs like Emule or WinMX, you should be able to get the song much more quickly. It’s from a Branford Marsalis album called “I Heard You Twice The First Time”. You can also hear a version of it in the video available of a production of The Piano Lesson, though personally the chain gang sound effects in the Marsalis add a lot, in my opinion.
If you can’t find it that way, email me and I’ll see if I can find the track for you.
Thanks for responding. I tried looking on WinMX, but couldn’t find it. Then I was going to try Emule, but I remembered that since I’m on a college network, I will be immediately kicked off of the system for downloading music from P2P programs (I know this because it happened to me many times last year). So, I would really appreciate it if you could post it on your site. Thanks again.
