For those who are following it for whatever reason they may be interested in doing so, I’ve posted again, in Korean, over at Let’s Learn Korean. This time I wrote about my struggle to find a comic book I could actually read in Korean, and how I finally succeeded in finding one called “순정 만화”. From what I can tell, the title is a pun on two possible meanings: “Simple comic book” and “boy-meets-girl comic book”. Lime actually recommended it to me, though in online form; I stumbled upon the hard copy version, much to my delight. It’s the first comic book I’ve found that isn’t full of made-up futuristic words, ancient speech patterns, or weirdly altered Korean to reflect life in some imaginary foreign country. I’m excited about it, and will begin reading it tomorrow!
