Weird Trackback Spam

Okay, most of it is weird in that it links back to XXX/bestiality/enlarge-your-member-type sites, but seriously:

I just deleted a bunch of trackback spam that didn’t connect to anywhere at all. All the links back looked as if they were connecting to sites on the same couple of servers, since the error messages looked were unique to the sites, and they looked pretty similar in a few cases.

What would the point be of sending out trackback spam for pages or posts that don’t even exist? Pretty stupid… if you ask me.

  1. I think some people do trackback spam for the same reason they do email worms; for the sheer joy of using their tech abilites to mess you up.
