Via Marvin over at New Sophists’ Almanac, here’s a bit of news that brings me joy, about the finding of a lost 1957 recording of a Carnegie Hall show performed by Trane and Monk from that mysterious time when they were playing in a band together.

I’ve been listening to this concert and also to Monk’s “Misterioso” album a lot for the last couple of weeks. Very cool.
I gotta get one that. I listened to the clips but then promptly let it slip my mind, as I’m into other things right now. Namely Ezra Pound.
