Today, I focused on cardio exercise… and surprised myself! 14 minutes on the treadmill, no breaks, with (after a minute or so of walk-in) a constant pace of 7 km/hr 15 minutes on the stationary cycle, no breaks, but not at a constant pace because the damned thing kept trying to push me into more difficult levels. Another 10 minutes on the treadmill, trying Shawn’s suggestion of intertraining… that translated to 3 one-minute bursts of 10 km/hr, and the rest walking at 4 or 6 km/hr. I stopped more because I decided to head out and do some marking before …

Getting Easier
It’s getting easier, and I’m feeling less like hell after workouts now, though I’m sure my arms will be complaining soon… and my legs, tomorrow. Treadmill: 12.5 min @ 6.6km/hr (no breaks!); Stationary cycle: 10 min @ 20km/hr (no breaks!); Rowing 5 min @ who knows what (I got bored); some upper body weights. I’m shooting for 15 min each on the treadmill and cycle next week. Slowly will work my way up to 20 min over a few weeks.
Saturday Afternoon Rush
Was meeting Lime for a healthy Greek dinner in Seoul, and got to the gym a touch late, but it’s okay — trying to ease myself into this anyway. Pulled off 12 minutes actual running (7km/hr, but there were a couple of breaks in there), 10 minutes on the rowing machine at roughly 25-30 klicks, and 40 painful situps.
Not So Bad, But There’s A Reason
Arrive at the gym late, and the guard told me it was closed from 8pm on. I told him I thought it was 10pm on, and he let me in for a little over half an hour. So: 10 minutes actual running on the treadmill; 10 minutes on the stationary bike; and about 10 minutes of weights and situps. Then came home dripping in sweat. Forgot my water bottle, too, and must go retrieve it in a bit… if he’ll let me in.
Painful
First day back to the gym in 8 months: treadmill (20 min); stationary bike (10 min, sort of); weights (15 min); moping (15 min). It’ll get better.
