Another Week, Another Handout

Yes, it’s that time again. This week’s pair of handouts (one page for Wednesday, one for Thursday) for my writing class is focused on using Question-and-Answer format as a way of organizing their writing and giving them one more style tool for their writing toolkit. The level’s a little high in the handout, but I am making the kind of handout I’d give to a writing class back home. It’s easier to simplify things verbally than to make them more complex, and the level in the class is a little uneven, so I’m trying to include something for the highest-level students to chew on.

  1. It’s fixed, but there’s still some kind of problem with the document. It sometimes downloads with the text in the black sidebar invisible. I’ll fix that tomorrow, and then all should be well. Thanks for the reminder: I actually noticed it was a broken link, but simply downloaded the file with my ftp access when it came time to print it (as I was rushing about), and later I forgot to check why it was broken.

  2. Gord,

Have you ever looked at using MSPublisher to make your hand-outs. This program rocks and is so much better than word for layout and design. Once you use it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

When I need to share my publisher files with others who don’t have it, I just convert them to pdf. This works great for you as you will be able to still post your hand-outs on your site.
