By the Way, If You Hadn’t Noticed…

… camp is indeed over, which is why I am posting about all the books I’ve read in the last few weeks!

I am free for almost a month now. I have packing and moving to do, and it looks like Lime and I will be going on a trip next week, for ten days, to Thailand. (She booked the tickets tonight, and as long as her interview and application process go well, it’s a go! This is advantageous, since we’ll get more days in this way than we would get in if we went after her orientation.) Warm beaches, nice massages, pretty temples, funny T-shirts, good food, and, oooh, used bookshops. (With books in English!) It would have been nice to have more time to visit my family, but if that’s impossible, well, this sounds like a passable alternative. But till then, I have a lot of packing and preparing to do!

The other bit of news is that this means I’ll need to do a visa run to Japan, in all likelihood, a few days after I get back. That’s fine — it’s not so expensive if you find a passable place to stay, and I’ll get instructions on how to do it rapidly, though I think 3 days is the minimum. Ah well, I’ll be seeing Fukoka, which is an interesting curiosity for me. I’m sure I’ll have lots to say about that.

  1. Congrats to your promotion (Are you moving to a university near Seoul?) and good luck for your trip to Thailand! You and Lime will eat a lot of Thai food (my favorite Asian cuisine). Sweet.

You guys seem to have the best month ever! And you deserve it…

  2. Thanks, June!

Yes, I’ll be moving to Bucheon. Maybe I haven’t posted that news yet, but I will soon. In any case, it looks like we will be enjoying some Thai cuisine for a while. Which is cool with me, I like it a lot too.

We are having a good month, though at the moment, Lime’s has been very hectic. She’s right now on a subway car to the hospital where she’ll be interviewed for an internsip. Which, amusingly, is affiliated with the University where I will be working, though not in the same exact location. I have my fingers crossed, which makes it hard to type.
