Friendly Spammers
You know someone’s not your friend when you mark incoming mail from them as spam without thinking about it, and have to use the undo link in Google. It’s a sad moment. Ubuntu 6.10 on an HP dv2000 (dv 2024, actually)
The last week or so, I’ve been fine-tuning my current installation of Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) on my new HP dv2024, which seems to be basically the same as any other HP dv2000. This is an overview of what I’ve gotten working, and how, and what I have left to test. Because I use Windows very occasionally, I maintain a dual boot system. Okay, the Linux posting is a little delayed, but look at this goofy stuff! Julia got it from Adam. Like both of them, I am amused by the juxtaposition of uptight white 19th century musicals form and style (and visuals) with modern macho rap culture. Quite amusing, and I’m sure ‘d pay a decent sum of money at some point to see a musical of that sort in real production.
Sniffly, Snowy, All Installed
Today, for some reason, I got me a bad case of the sniffles. I think it was maybe a very brief early wake-up a few hours after I finally got to sleep. But it may have something to do with dust in the new apartment.
