Ex Libris Miskatonici, by Joan C. Stanley

Update (18 October 2018): If you’re interested in getting a copy of this book, and think the asking prices online are insane, you should try email Necronomicon Press. In the post below, I mention emailing them but not the response, which came soon after I published this post. They had copies in stay… and may still have them. This is where to go if you’d like to inquire. And have a look around: there’s some other cool stuff available on the site, too. (I rather wish I’d gotten Jason C. Eckhardt’s Off the Ancient Track: A Lovecraftian Guide to New …

Blogging Pound’s The Cantos: Canto LXVII

This entry is part 53 of 60 in the series Blogging Pound's The Cantos

This post is one in a series of readings I’m posting of each poem in Ezra Pound’s The Cantos, one (or a few) at a time. The readings are atypical, for reasons made clear in my first post in this series. I’m not sure whether the fiction project that inspired this series will ever come to fruition, but I’d like to try finish the Cantos just the same. There’s also an (updated) index of all the Cantos (and related sources) I’ve discussed so far. This is my fourth Cantos-posting this summer: hooray for momentum! Like Canto LXVI and all the remaining “Adams” Cantos, this …

Blogging Pound’s The Cantos: Canto LXV

This entry is part 50 of 60 in the series Blogging Pound's The Cantos

Okay, time to get my shoulder back to the wheel, I think. I’m making another try at returning to the Cantos. It’s been a busy time, but not so busy I can’t do this a few days a week in the morning, as a warm-up to my own writing. At least, I hope I can do it.  This post is one in a series of readings I’m posting of each poem in Ezra Pound’s The Cantos, one (or a few) at a time. Revisiting Wraith: The Oblivion—Part 11: Play Resources

This entry is part 11 of 12 in the series Revisiting Wraith the Oblivion

Welcome to my revisitation of the Wraith: The Oblivion RPG book line. I’m reviewing the whole run of gamebooks in this series of posts. If you’re new to the series, I recommend starting with the first post. If you’re not interested in reviews of older RPGs, I suggest you skip it, though perhaps you might find materials here of use in other games… who knows?

Recent Reads

It’s been awhile since I said anything about what I’ve read lately—I don’t think I’ve written a review post since this one I shared in September, in fact! One reason is that I haven’t managed to read as much as I’d like. Writing, a toddler, overtime at work… they all converge on me having less time to read, and even less to post about what I’m reading. Still, I have been reading, to be sure. I have also written a few specific posts on individual books, which got stalled out because of what a challenge it is to really do the …

Revisiting Wraith: The Oblivion—Part 10: Orpheus

This entry is part 10 of 12 in the series Revisiting Wraith the Oblivion

Welcome to my revisitation of the Wraith: The Oblivion RPG. I’m reviewing the whole run of gamebooks in this series of posts… and  just a little bit beyond, as you can see from the featured image of this post. If you’re only after information about the Orpheus RPG White Wolf published in 2003, then this post is for you. However, if you’re new to the series and interested in Wraith, then I recommend starting with the first post. If you’re not interested in reviews of older RPGs, I suggest you skip it.
