Interesting article on Korean unification

I found an article on Thomas P.M. Barnett’s blog about Korean reunification and America backing off in hopes that Seoul would lead the opposition to Kim. Since I think he’s somewhat wrong, I’ve also left comments, so keep scrolling. And he’s really wrong about Michael Moore, who is quite an unsavory sort of person, I’ve concluded… but I think I know lots of Americans who would sort of agree with a less-polemical version of many of the comments he makes which Barnett finds so objectionable.

The Five More Commandments

It’s a big job, thinking about the “ought tos” of life. But that’s exactly what Rob asked of us F5ers last weekend: The Ten Commandments are shaking at the knees for want of a zimmer frame. Oh Horror of Horrors!!!

The bank machine that ate my card automatically destroyed it. So I called my bank in Seoul. The English call-center was closed, because it was after 5pm local time. So I called the general call center. When I asked if anyone present could speak English, I was told no. I proceeded to try to explain. I was hung up on. I am *so* changing banks when I get home. Trip and Craziness

Well, let’s see if I can summarize my trip so far: Woori Bank cards are useless and screwy, and actually dealing with Woori Bank on the phone while overseas takes WAY too long. I think I’m going to focus on dealing with another bank when I get back to Korea. I saw a lot of old friends.
