What does that mean? I’m not quite sure, but Lime said it was something like what I took to mean “Joyful Melding” or something like that. It’s the title that was given to the translation of the article I wrote in English about the Jeonju Sori Festival, which was published in this month’s 문화저저늘 (Culture Journal). Since I didn’t title it myself, the title can only be credited to the translator…

Lime says the writing as rendered in Korean is absolutely beautiful, and of course I’m not sure whether that means my writing is good, or whether to credit only the translation which was performed by my co-worker and fellow Ezra Pound examiner Chullsung. If you’re curious and wish to take a guess, check the text under the dividing line in this post, which is what Chullsung translated into Korean for the article.

I quipped, “I’ll have to write the next one in Korean!”

Chullsung generously replied, “Yeah. Maybe.” With a big grin, of course.

Lime said she’d probably quote some of it on her website, and if she ever does get around to it, I’ll try to include a link to the quote.

UPDATE: By the way, according to Chullsung the magazine sends directly to subscribers and doesn’t distribute in shops, so even if you want to, you probably can’t buy it in the normal way. However, you might be able to get access to the article in another way, if you contact me… but it’s pretty high-level Korean, so most readers will probably find the English version sufficient.
