Angry Asian-Americans Against Adidas
Well, 40 of them. More on the Ray Fong adicolor shoe hullaballoo. Perhaps Adidas screwed up. But the artist whose tag they used is Asian himself! (Well, half-Asian, as they point out, but that’s more than enough for him to identify. And if they hadn’t noticed, the Angry Asian Man they cited, he’s annoyed about EVERYTHING.)

Let’s see, what have I watched lately? A Sound of Thunder. I can’t say it was all bad. I mean, those primate/reptile predator critters were pretty cool. Imaginatively conceived preadtory megafauna, yeah, I like it. But the film was also chock full of almost-good-enough CGI that, well, frankly, just wasn’t quite good enough. But what bothered me more about this movie was what it has with so much other TV/film SF: the science comes last, if at all, and the Wow, cool! concept comes first. New York Magazine has an interesting piece about Grups, which are sold as “The Ascendant Breed of Grown-Ups Who Are Redefining Adulthood”. It’s weirdly familiar to me, and though I’m not a trendoid hipster like some of these people described, I sure do have my doubts about the version of adulthood that was passed on to me by My Culture.
