The Egan Thief… and a Mention on BoingBoing?

Apparently so. A netfriend alerted me via my much-neglected Facebook account. Sure, just in passing, but it’s still cool.

Why?

Rudy Rucker published the new issue (#4) of his SF webzine Flurb and my story, “The Egan Thief,” is among those in the latest selection of tasty treats. (This marks my third SF publication, and is very very cool to have it at such a cool venue.) And there are some very, very tasty treats there, so go give everything a look.

  1. Hi Gord!

I quite enjoyed your “Thief” story on flurb.net! (And of course have spread the word, put links in my own blog to it, and all that.) Indeed, Mr Egan’s memes may be approaching some sort of supercriticality, and you’re on top of it.

I believe you may be interested to research some of the works of the (late) great Todd Thromberry. His material has become a bit obscure but well worth the discovery…

  2. Thanks, guys.

    David,

Supercriticality? Uh, maybe. :) I hadn’t heard of Todd Thromberry, but I’ll look further, when I can get my hands on the story I suspect (after a quick googling) that you have in mind. :)

    Marvin,

Yeah, I was explaining to Lime about the reifying effect of being mentioned on the bOing and she was amused.
