Scary People Who Like To Wear Too Much Makeup While On A Mission

Rob, who posted a comment on my friend Marvin’s blog about scary clowns, is right. This is kind of scary. Not just Liberty and Belle, but actually, almost all of the clowns in their “before” shots. They all just kind of look like scary people, except Nikki and David. David looks like a reformed goth drug user, though, and Nikki looks like a girl I used to have a crush on in grade school who ended up being an idiot and a bit of a jerk. Oooh, and she kind of resembles a sex addict I once knew. Who was …

Cyber-coolies?

When you call for help with your computer, to book a plane ticket or hotel room, or receive a telemarketer’s call, where is the person you’re talking sitting? According to this article, if you’re calling in English, the person could be just about anywhere. India now has more than 160,000 call-centre workers and expects to have a million by 2008. Raman Roy, who runs a company called Wipro Spectramind, imagines India becoming “the back office of the world.” He had 200 employees three years ago and now has 5,100. They take catalogue orders, book hotel and airline reservations, do some …

Singularity Action Group

During my bored surfing I found a link for the webpage of the Singularity Action Group. They strike me as slightly unhinged, and I have severe doubts the Singularity is coming anytime soon… just as I doubt the end of the world is nigh. Still, they’re interesting enough. I think they underestimate both the risks and benefits of a Singularity. What the heck is a Singularity? Uh… well… there are a lot of people who can explain better than me… even the previous link does a better job than me… But anyway, while the concept was first mentioned by Alvin …

ENFP

Today everyone in the office took an online personality test. It’s the Jungian sort of Myers-Briggs test, where you’re assigned four letters that supposedly encapsulate your personality traits. In high school when I took this test I scored as an INFP, but with the I/E balanced at 50/50. This time, I scored as an ENFP… and I am sure on another day it’d be just as easy to score as INFP. The interesting thing was degree: I was only very slightly Extroverted, and only very slightly Feeling, while I was moderately Intuitive and rather pronouncedly Perceiving. Interesting, since I thought …

The Tiger Meant Well, Really He Did…
or,
Idiotic Crap That Some Guy Who Looks Like Jean-François Said…

Sure, Siggy: the tiger wanted to help Roy. Whatever makes you feel more comfortable about this whole thing. Okay, this is just subjective, but Siegfried looks a hell of a lot like a fairly unsavory, backwards, emotionally and intellectually retarded, and generally screwed-up French guy I know in Korea. So basically I think everything he says is crazy.

What It Is To Be Earthling

I was looking at the weird search combinations that led people to my website (and some of them are pretty bizarre) when I ran across this webpage: poeticgeek.net, where the main poster is another blogging Gord. On the page, I found an interesting post by said Gord, attributing its contents to his friend Erik: Y’know how humans are always doing weird and wacky things. Everyone always says how screwed up humans are, and that there must be something “wrong” with since we don’t act like normal animals. Well a recent article that I read shows that it’s not humans that …

Tiger Bum

Here’s me trying to steal a few hours of consciousness for the weekend. Sweating like mad, just ate, will sleep in about half an hour. Wanted to share this, and ask what you think of the logic behind the comment at the end. Tiger Bum sounds like Tiger Balm and I could really use some tiger balm right now. I should have bought some when I was in Thailand and it was cheap as hell… Okay, off to set my alarm for 7am tomorrow in case I need to call in sick. I have a feeling I will have to. …

What’s Your Soul Worth?

Well, I am embarassed. I got my soul’s purity rated over at We Want Your Soul and apparently my soul purer than 84% of the rest of the world, and is therefore worth £43,808. I’d rather it was a little less pure. Gotta work harder, I guess. Thanks for the link, Adam. By the way, yes, I am still ill. But I’ve been sleeping on-and-off (mostly on) since Friday night, and it’s early Sunday morning and my body’s had enough of the bed. Just finishing a toddie and I’ll go back to sleep, this time on the floor.
