I’ve gotten most of my first draft (er, sort of second draft) done on the essay. I’s not really an essay as much as a pair of short opinion pieces by characters who really disagree. Anyway, the first one I wrote almost completely, and then I wrote a lot of the second one. Then I went back and rewrote the first one completely, and it’s a hell of a lot smoother, more believable, and stronger. Today We Just Crossed The Halfway Point.
The halfway point in reference to this summer English camp I’m working at, that is. Teacher Leon pointed it out this morning. It was a nice thing to be reminded of, because I assure you I was absolutely exhausted. The day passed in a whirl of madness, including my clicking pics of a number of the kids in my class and other kids as well. I also snapped a few TAs and the odd teacher as well, but of course, having forgotten the cable that connects my camera to my PC, I can’t post the pics until next week. It …
Cooking Day approaches.
Here’s what we’ll be cooking with my kids tomorrow: Malfoyland French Toast. The fried chicken thing is a bit of an in-joke with the kids. And yes, I am posting this from my dorm room (where my net connection actually WORKS!) for the simple purpose of having it somewhere accessible so I can download it and print it once I arrive at the office across campus.
Lime Pic, Camp Blather, and More
For those interested, there’s a new pic of Lime over at imagisme. Well, sort of. Half a Lime, anyway. While I’m at camp, I can’t see her, and I miss her. She started her, well, I-don’t-know-what-it’s-called-ship over at the University hospital today. Not an intern, she’s third-year and doing observations and dealing a little with patients. Anyway, I managed to call her too late, and she was already sleeping. Which I should be doing by now. Why I’ve been so quiet.
I’m working at a summer camp here, and I have no net access in my dorm room. I seem to have gotten a bum room, or something. My computer, though, doesn’t actually seem to be working in any of the dorm rooms, though it connects to the LAN at the office just fine. So I am spending evenings trying to write my essay, and wondering if I might have email or comments on my blog, or whether anyone’s posted anything interesting lately.
