Often it seems like you can’t get a forecast in English for Jeonju, the town where I live. A lot of online stuff uses only American military feeds, and the closest one here is in Kunsan, an hour away. But a few days ago I found this site, which offers weather information for Jeonju as well as several other major cities. I like how it breaks each day down into smaller periods and tells the chances of precipitation. How To Save the World
Usually capitalist-blogs turn me off. All that blather about how to “succeed” and not much thought about what constitutes “success”. Well, Dave Pollard’s How to Save the World is different. The usually somewhat more acute Kimberley Swygert at Number 2 Pencil disappoints me. Her reading of Christine Anne Inauen’s FrontPage magazine article Hijacking America’s Youth is rather blithe and uncritical. Inauen bemoans the horrors of her Catholic high school education, and concludes that: Intellectual abuse is repulsive at every level, but it is particularly outrageous when ideological teachers prey upon society’s youngest and most impressionable members. Practice Room Work
While I don’t like the fact that my Monday is chock full of holes (three one-hour classes, the first at 10:30am and the last running from 8:45-10:00pm), I do get a kick out of going to the practice room with a book of manuscript paper and chunking out chords until I’ve got a usable progression.
