Yoga is no defense against sharks. That’s right. I know. It’s unbelievable. Thanks for breaking this shocking news, Adam. As if it weren’t self evident. No, this “scientist” learned the hard way: Tv cameras have captured the agonising moment when a 350lb bull shark attacked a man convinced yoga would protect him from one of nature’s most dangerous predators. The shark’s razor-sharp teeth tore a chunk out of scientist Erich Ritter’s leg as he stood in waters off a Bahamian beach that had been heavily baited with fish parts, it was revealed yesterday. … He had persuaded himself that special …

No Chlorine
Today I killed off some of my stress and some time at the Jim Jil Bang. This is a marvelous Korean version of a spa, at sane prices. You pay a little money and you can not only use the public baths (though, sadly, there seems to be no mud bath these days), but also the temperature controlled, semi-quiet relaxation area. It may seem strange to pay money to bathe with other people, and then sit in a T-shirt and shorts in warm rooms or in large open spaces with people lying on the floor sleeping or chatting… but it’s …

I had to stop a lot… having missed out on near-daily practice for a couple of months, I have gained a few kilograms back and I’ll gone soft… so I think I shall swim daily, perhaps even twice daily once I have my strength back. The water is pretty chlorinated, I guess. It didn’t taste how I remember chlorinated pools tasting, but when I did the backstroke, I got a fair …
Seoul Update
Okay, so here’s the weekend in a nutshell. I decided not to come to Seoul until Saturday, but I’d made plans to meet up with my friend Sun Hwa so I caught the 6:30 bus to Seoul. That was so that we would be able to meet in Apgujeong around 11:00; but first, had to hurry to the Nakwon Sanga, where I needed to get some repairs on my sax. I got to the Nakwon Sanga by about 9:45, but the shop was very busy, and then when the shop owner finally got a chance to sit down with me …
Poll
I added a poll to this site, down on the lower end of the right sidebar. Vote today! And, I’ve just checked the results. I am flattered that someone actually voted for “all of Gord.” How sweet. Who was it? Wait, no don’t tell me. I may not want to know. Well, but maybe I do. Er… This weekend is busy, but I think after this weekend I shall have to redecorate my Korean-language blog, as it’s been neglected enough. I never realized how much a change in style can affect one’s mood toward posting on one’s blog. Hm.
