Er, in the Konglish sense, where home town means “area from which one hails”. Here are some reasons to love my home province in Canada, which is Saskatoon. Actually, I don’t love the Roughriders, or many of the things on the list, but it’s neat to see the place being blogged about, just the same. (And the fact that the first general human rights act in North America was passed in Saskatchewan, before even the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights was passed.) The link was on The Worship Freehouse, a little religious collective in Saskatoon, my hometown, whose page …

What Happens if the Pope Goes Senile? (And Doesn’t Retire?)
(In case this shows up on Twitter or Facebook: this post is from 2005. I’m just publishing old posts that went unpublished, but should have been published…) * “The Pope’s health is not good.” Again, or is it still? Test Your Biases
At Project Implicit, you can test your biases in terms of age, race, gender, and sexuality. Quite an interesting method. Link from transitus.
Philosophizin’ Stuff
There’s been a lot of activity over at New Sophists’ Almanac, the other blog where I occasionally post. Marvin’s digging into something called Alpha Theory, and he, Hayden and I are discussing a paper by a Mr. Windschuttle which criticizes postmodernism. You can see it all, and join in, here.
