Like other reads, this one is being posted a little while after I’ve finished it. It was a long, slow read, because even for a comic, 1000+ pages is a huge chunk of book.

This is a follow-up on a music notation project I’ve mentioned recently. (I’ve been inputting the scores for pieces I still have handwritten manuscripts for. Some are lost, so this is the last one I have on hand.)
Time for another #dungeon23 post. This time, I detailed the ruins of a ghost town/palace containing the tomb of a local ruler, the enigmatic Khasha-Sha. Day 84 was yesterday, so I’m posting this today!
I spent my #dungeon23 time this past week detailing a trio of small, connected fragments of the broken moon. I like the challenge of designing interesting locales, one or two at a time, that are weird and unique enough to be interesting, malleable enough to work as SF or as science fantasy, and that fit together into a single milieu (albeit a kind of jigsaw setting).
Well, I decided to notate one of the last pieces of music I wrote as a student. It’s the last one I still have a manuscript for that is worth notating, so I figured, why not?
This is another installment in my #dungeon23 project, updating my progress up to Day 65 of the project, which was Monday the 6th of March.
Yes, again! I’m done—or as done as I can be within my current limits—with notating Monk Suite. No audio yet, but I still wanted to post a note about getting the input done, and about the process and what it was like.
The other day, I stumbled onto an old interview done with the band I played with from 2002-2004. This was from spring 2003—20 years ago! It was only posted on youtube last year. Anyway, I’ve posted it to the Dabang Band subpage on this website, if anyone’s interested. You can see a very young me talking very vaguely about our plans for the band (plans?) and you can also hear some clips from some of our songs, the way we did them live, as well as everyone else answering questions we didn’t know were coming. Er, uh, um… well, the …
This is a book I read the other day, and it’s a really great educational/reference tome. However, if you usually are here for fiction reviews, it may not be for you. If you play saxophone, on the other hand…
Okay, this is the last of the music projects I’ll be posting about for now. This one’s actually a jazz tune, a lead sheet and a little MIDI playback of the melody, for now, though I’m considering turning it into something bigger.
