Wow. Impeachment vote pending in South Korea. The South Korean National Assembly has been adjourned until Friday after supporters of President Roh Moo-hyun blocked an impeachment vote. What do I think? Well, I think this excerpt from the conversation I had with Charlie says it all: Charlie: Oooh. Korean president in trouble. GordSellar: No Mu Hyun? Oh oh… out of touch, lemme look GordSellar: holy shit. nobody has mentioned it all day. wonder if they know at the office. GordSellar: someone must have mentioned it, tho, while I was out. can’t imagine NOBODY knowing about this. Charlie: Embezzling cunt. GordSellar: …

Impending (Temporary) Silence
I would be lying if I said it was because I was busy these days. That’s not why I’m gonna be silent for a few days here. It’s not because I can’t think of anything to say, either. It’s because, believe it or not, I have a few important things to sort out with this website, and another website I need to start building. That’s right, Deep End, my silly song about a foreigner taking swimming lessons at the Korean YMCA and finding himself head-over-heels infatuated with a lifeguard who speaks no English, has been recorded. We actually did quite well, making rather short work of it; I think everything was recorded within 3 takes except my solo, which took, I think, five tries to get exactly right. Still, the Cavare studio people all …
I can relate.
Have you ever looked at the Wherever You Are weblog? It’s worth reading. I do so every once in a while and I have a feeling the fellow who writes it would be one of those friends I hung out with a lot, and might slowly get over my uncomfortable feeling of inadequacy regarding, you know, having a friend who seems smarter than you, that kind of thing. Anyway, one of his recent posts was something I could really relate to. So I’m plunking a link down here.
