Moments From The Last 24 Hours

I’m sitting on the bus, barely able to stifle the urge to sing the harmony part on the Stanley Brothers’ rendition of Over in the Gloryland, and realizing that the idea of going to heaven to play in an angel band is a beautiful one, and says a lot about what it’s like to be in a band with your good friends. Waking up to yet another friendly SMS message on my phone, this one observing, correctly, that what I’m doing with my free time these days is really quite exciting and fun. Standing in a darkened room, back to …

Wow, That Was Cool…

Well, it’s about 24 hours (Korean time) till my birthday officially starts, and what I did I do this evening? I had dinner with the guys in the band, and recorded a track for my friend Dae Gui’s CD. It’s quite pretty, really, and I hope he puts it online so that I too can share it on my site. It took some doing, about two and a half hours for a few little sax parts, but I was starting from scratch so that’s not so bad. And I think, once it’s mixed down, it should really come out nice. …

Look Closely

Shawn just pointed out that there’s an upside-down pentagram pentacle on the sign of the university where we work, which is a Christian university. Do you see it? You can click on the image to see it nice and big. We in the office wonder exactly what this may signify… but register very little surprise.

Okay, then…

So the day’s been kind of busy, even though I’m not really teaching much today. I woke to a text-message from a very nice friend who wished me luck on the first day of classes. Still, I am pleased with this kind of traffic. Wonder how to increase it still more? Hmm.

Dear John Wendel…

I was looking at the keywords recently used that brought people to my website, and I found something that made me laugh out loud. I’d call you right now but your phone is probably still screwed, so I’m posting it and hoping you see it. I don’t know, and can’t know, who searched for this, but someone was looking on the internet with the following search words: Last 20 Searchengine Queries Unique Visitors 28 Feb, Sat, 04:07:45 Google: gord 28 Feb, Sat, 12:05:06 MSN Search: Art & Photos from Song of Solomon 28 Feb, Sat, 12:09:11 Yahoo: water gay sex …

Thai Chicken Curry

Yeah, I got some fresh basil and dried lemongrass up in Seoul, and I made some, had Myoung over for dinner last night. It was a good talk and I think a good dinner too. But it’s even better the next day, as with most curries (I find). When it sits at night the flavours blend more deeply and it’s wonderful. Ahhhhhhh. That’s today’s lunch. Woo hoo.
