So, I finished updating the look of my website. The structure still needs some serious work, and I want a series of random banners, but for now what’s there will be fine. My posting of late has been somewhat erratic. Friday Fives posted on Monday, nothing for a day or two at a time… Why? For one thing, I have been working on figuring out what the next format for this webpage will be. I need to get an update done as I am beginning to be rather tired of the current one. Classes are going well. Waiting to hear about my ticket to India. Feeling tired. Not going swimming today. Too close to the edge of a headache and I’m worn out. Practiced saxophone today for an hour. Was pleased to find nobody cared. No harassment, no attention except for the fact students looking for an empty room tended to look in the window—because the light was off—for a second until they realized someone was practicing in the room. Now I’m going to take a little nap. Ungh.

Last night after band practice, Seong Hwan and I hung out with Thai, drinking ginseng wine and talking. Among the many things we learned from Seong Hwan, here are the two most interesting. 1. Elliot Smith, the wonderful American folk singer, recently killed himself. Knife in the heart. Very sad. Listen to him, you’ll be as sad about it as I am. 2. The Korean euphemism for having sex all night long is “Man-li Jjangseong mandeul-da.” Make the Great Wall of China. Huh! Gotta go! Well, I carved pumpkins tonight at the Jeonju pre-Halloween Jack O’Lantern carving party at the Deep-in. It was strange at first: I started to feel a little blue, because of memories about the last time I carved pumpkins. I was looking at happy people around me, and trying to be happy with them, chat with them. And I decided to just forget last year, and live in the present.
