For those who are interested, the Fictionwise eMagazine edition of the current Asimov’s SF (October/November 2008 double-issue), with my latest fiction publication in it, is available here. I am not so fond of DRM, but Fictionwise does offera PDF option, which is about as non-invasive as you can get. (I’m pretty sure the PDFs are printable, for example.)

“Dhuluma No More” in the Current Asimov’s SF…
“Dhuluma No More” is the second story I’ve published in Asimov’s SF so far: it’s in the October/November double issue which should now be on newsstands, if I have my information. Here’s the advance notice of the issue, and the Table of Contents for the issue. As usual, I won’t be seeing the issue for a while, but a few of the things in it look interesting to me, according to this review of the issue. I’m curious especially to see what my Clarion West instructor Ian R. MacLeod did with his alt-history of the Sepoy Mutiny set in England …

The subscriber issues of Asimov’s July ’08 issue are out, and apparently there’s a review of my story in it coming in Locus… I’ll be waiting a while for my copy, but the gist is here. And it’s been a springboard to at least one discussion of jazz SF already at the Asimov’s board. Is it impolitic to jump in on such a discussion? I would like to inform Redmarvel that the fate of the cowboys will not always be a mystery, if I get my way… but wouldn’t want to make people feel like they can’t bash the story …
