I just picked up issue 2 of GUD magazine, in PDF form, figuring that if the sample I got for signing up made a pretty smooth conversion to .prc (mobipocket) format, I can probably convert the whole PDF that way too. But I didn’t wait to check out The Salivary Reflex by my friend Tina Connolly, whom I met at Clarion West. Oddly, Tina said she didn’t think this story was all that disturbing shocking in response to someone’s comment that it was “written to disturb shock.” For me, however, it was quite unsettling. Trying BlogGTK
I’m trying BlogGTK and seeing if I like it as an offline blog editing app. It took me ages to get anything to connect, because none of the programs I was trying to use could connect to my xmlrpc.php file. Turned out it was a problem easily solved, by editing my .htaccess file according to the method described here. Anyway, not sure which app I’ll be using now, but I am glad I got this working. I think it’s working, anyway…

Wonjjang Sold!
I’m pleased to announce that my “Asian superhero team” story “Wonjjang and the Madman of Pyongyang” will be appearing in the Canadian speculative fiction anthology Tesseracts12, edited by Claude Lalumière, in 2008.
