The one I’m thinking of remains in my memory only as a title: “Can’t Sleep”. I can’t sleep right now, so I thought I would share in some of the amusements of camp. Whilst teachers enjoyed the remnants of a huge fire from earlier in the evening: … Shawn decided, not having shown his manhood enough by becoming an expectant father, that it was a good night to go firewalking. Without a shirt on. At least he kept his running shoes on, though, or I’d have been horrified by the proceedings. More quotes from Shawn to come soon… especially one …

The Data
One thing I’ve become conscious of is my need to save and backup data. I spent about an hour today going through various folders containing my writing and I know now that I need to come up with some kind of seriously stable, centralized backup system — something that is easily updated, easily synchronized, and easily maintained. My creative processes are somewhat messy, but not so messy that this would be impossible. For example, I tend to go back and find stories I worked on, partway through, and then left to “percolate”. Once I “finish” them — meaning once I …

Lynn on the Suckiness of High School Drama
Brain Farts’ blogger Lynn’s reminiscences about high school drama got me thinking about my own experiences in that department. While most of my (now-obviously-sketchy) performances at variety nights with bands and in plays and such were of my own choice, mostly — including the jazz-fusion version of Metallica’s Enter Sandman, and a narrating job for Les Miserables — there was one performance I was forced into which I abhorred as much as she did hers.
Get a Gander At Me
I don’t know if I ever posted the last self-portrait I made using the Southpark character creator tool (which can be found here), but anyway, this pic looks like a good approximation of me during my recent tour of duty at my Uni’s biannual Elementary English Camp. And yes, do I squint like that… because of my lazy eye’s sensitivity to light.
Wasn’t it Erasmus…?
Wasn’t it Erasmus who said that whenever he got a little money, first he bought books, and then, were there a little left over, food and clothes? Yes, it seems it was, well, sort of. It’s a mangled quote always attributed to him, at least, and we like it that way, don’t we? Well, I used to be like that. No longer am I quite so spendthirft with books, nor even so much of a hoarder as I used to be, but after several hours of packing — mainly books — I am convinced that the most considerable part of …
Paperwork&bureau
crazcies, oh, they give my head to an ache, &last minutes specially give to it no break. this paper, that scrap:all gathered not yet can lateron (thus now) more trouble beget oh trouble oh nonsense if people would just let things onward go (a bit) with less this fuss than guv’ments’ suitmen whose offices closed would prob’ly have nothing to do, so who knows? thus yes, maybe we’re all better gone on this way; but come on, now, my friends; we should test this, I say —

Interview Me!
Does anyone want a crack at this? I have an interviews section (in the sidebar) and I’m looking for someone to interview me. I would have veto rights over questions, of course, but I would also try not to use it if possible. By the way, we could conduct the interview via email, MSN Messenger, ICQ, or perhaps some other medium if you would like. Contact information will be provided to whoever’s willing to do this. If anyone’s interested, leave a comment to this post and I’ll communicate more with you about this. I’ll probably oblige you in order of …
By the Way, If You Hadn’t Noticed…
… camp is indeed over, which is why I am posting about all the books I’ve read in the last few weeks! I am free for almost a month now. I have packing and moving to do, and it looks like Lime and I will be going on a trip next week, for ten days, to Thailand. (She booked the tickets tonight, and as long as her interview and application process go well, it’s a go! This is advantageous, since we’ll get more days in this way than we would get in if we went after her orientation.) Warm beaches, …
