I am jetlagged, but not as badly as I could have been, and I am here. Got a room, got a futon mattress for the floor, got a desk and chair. HAven’t unpacked. Will think about it after breakfast. Clarion Blog Hiatus
I’m not planning on blogging regularly here while I’m at the Clarion workshop, though intermittent posts might make their way here on the backs of digital pigeons. Almost there…
YAY! I have finalized all the grades I can tonight — which means all but three grades. Everything else has been submitted, has been marked, and has been shown to the student or will be shown tomorrow. Small adjustments might be required, but nothing earthshaking, well, as long as my luck holds out. (My luck holds out until the moment an adjusted grade affects the curve.) You know, I had a bad impression of the Academic Affairs Office where I work even before I was hired. I don’t know what happened, but twice they claimed not to have received my transcripts — transcripts that somehow arrived everywhere else they were sent. Ahem. Well, getting final, official clearance to match the unofficial permission I’ve repearedly to go to Clarion West, this seems to have become well-nigh impossible. Almost. Looks like I’m not the only Clarionite-to-be who’s having eye troubles. I do feel somewhat better, and maybe it’s nerves, that are compounding the general fatigue, but my right eye — that is, my one good eye — is not doing so well these days. I credit lack of sleep, stress, and strain. The eyedrops the doc prescribed me are helping, but aren’t erasing my nervousness about it. I mean, when you have only one good eye, you kind of have to take care of it, you know?
